Factors, multiples and our times tables form a building block that is crucial to developing our mathematical skills efficiently. They allow us to simplify complex algebraic expressions. They can also lead to elegant solutions compared to numerical or computational processing.
Prior Knowledge & Skills
Following on from multiplication and division basics, we begin to look at applying the same principles to algebraic expressions.
Once we're familiar with multiplying out brackets and simplifying expressions we can look at quadratic equations and solving straight forward examples. We increase the complexity and introduce real world problems.
A fundamental skill for working in fields requiring a more developed understanding of maths. Whether that be in finance, engineering or science.
